Shannon Butler of WFTV Channel 9 is reporting on her Twitter that there was a shooting at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando on Monday afternoon.
One person was hurt in a shooting involving an Orange County sheriff's deputy outside the WWE Performance Center in Azalea Park on Monday, authorities said.
A Witness told Channel 9: "this guy was crazy. He was here a few days ago and arrested. I guess he came back!"
The Sheriff at the scene told media that the shooter is identified as a 29-year-old Hispanic man who has developed an unnatural fixation with an as-yet-unnamed female talent. The officer responsible for the shooting is identified as Cpl. Steve Wahl. The sheriff said that the female wrestler was not present at the facility at the time of the shooting. Individual was said to have been armed with a knife, and the shooting allegedly occurred when he ignored Wahl's instructions and charged, backing Wahl up "75 to 100 feet." Incident is said to have been recorded by security cameras. Sheriff says that this is the third encounter they've had with the individual in the past month.
